Frost fair and festive window competition keep Mayor busy this coming week

A frost fair and Christmas window judging are among the dates in the diary for the Mayor of Peterborough this coming week.

Friday, 1 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will turn on the Christmas lights and officially launch their festive activities at the Park Vista Nursing Home, Park Crescent, PE1 4DX from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Friday, 1 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will take part in a visit to the Sue Ryder Hospice at Thorpe Hall in Thorpe Road, PE3 6LW from noon to 1.30pm.

Friday, 1 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will cut a ribbon and assist with the handing out of raffle prizes at a Festive Frost Fair taking place at Ormiston Meadows Academy, Matley, PE2 5YQ from 3.15pm to 5pm.

Saturday, 2 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will declare the Advent Wreath Festival officially open at St Matthew's Church in Eye, PE6 7UZ from 11am to noon.

Saturday, 2 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will open the Folksworth Christmas Fair at Folksworth Church School in Apreece Road, PE7 3TY from 1pm to 2.30pm. They will also present a prize to the winner of a cake competition at the event.

Sunday, 3 December - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the 50th celebrations of Dogsthorpe Methodist Church in Birch Tree Avenue PE1 4HP from 10.15am to 12.15pm.

Sunday, 3 December - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a performance of The Wizard of Oz, given by the Hebden School of Dancing at Stamford Corn Exchange in Broad Street, PE9 1PX from 4pm to 6.30pm.

Monday, 4 December - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a light buffet and drinks at Kidney Research UK's annual advent service and reception. The event will take place at Greenwoods Solicitors in City Road, PE1 1JE from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Monday, 4 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will be attending the opening of a new restaurant, the Gurkha Lounge in Hampton Vale, PE7 8NJ from 6.30pm to 9pm.

Tuesday, 5 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the annual general meeting of the charity Shine, which includes a light buffet lunch at Park Road, PE1 2UQ from 11.15am to 2pm.

Tuesday, 5 December - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will make a toast at a mince pie event at the Maltings in Aldermans Drive, PE3 6AR from 2pm to 4pm.

Tuesday, 5 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will judge window displays and hand out awards at the Millfield Christmas Window judging event. The event will take place at the Medina Grill in Lincoln Road, PE1 2PH from 6.45pm to 8.15pm.

Tuesday, 5 December - The Mayor and Mayoress will present Duke of Edinburgh awards at a presentation evening at the Thomas Deacon Academy in Queen's Gardens, PE1 2UW from 6.45pm to 8.15pm.

Wednesday, 6 December - The Mayor will attend a Peterborough Together City Leadership Forum tour at Peterborough Regional College from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
