Great Gatsby ball in Mayor's diary

A Great Gatsby themed ball and a visit from a Scouts group are dates in the Mayoral diary for this coming week.

Saturday, May 5 - The Mayor and Mayoress will talk to children and adults at a fundraising day for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The event takes place at the Bull Inn in Guntons Road, Newborough, from 1.45pm until 4pm.

Saturday, May 5 - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a Great Gatsby themed ball at The Fleet in Fleet Way, Peterborough, from 7pm until 11pm. The event is being held by the Alzheimer's Society with proceeds raised going towards the charity.

Sunday, May 6 - The Mayor and Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Vaisakhi Harvest Festival at the Queen Katharine Academy in Mountsteven Avenue in Peterborough from 7.30pm until 11pm. Vaisakhi is the harvest and new year festival of the Punjab religion and is traditionally celebrated with bright new clothes, singing and dancing.

Wednesday, May 9 - The Mayor and Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a visit from the 63rd Peterborough Scouts group. The visit takes place in the Mayor's Parlour at Peterborough Town Hall from 7pm until 8.30pm.
