Poignant remembrance ceremony in Mayor's diary

A poignant remembrance ceremony and a family fun day at a cricket club are among the dates in the Mayoral diary this week.

Thursday 25 April - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will lay wreaths at the annual Anzac Day commemoration at Broadway Cemetery in Peterborough. The event takes place between 2.15pm and 3pm and is held each year to remember sacrifices made by soldiers from Australia and New Zealand at the Gallipoli landings during the First World War.

Saturday 27 April - The Mayor and Mayoress will be special guests at Peterborough Town Cricket Club between 3pm and 4pm. The club, based at the Dalrod Sports Ground in Bretton Gate, is holding a family fun day with a variety of activities taking place.

Saturday 27 April - The Mayor and Mayoress will make a short speech at the Peterborough Lions Club 49th Charter Anniversary. The event takes place at the Masonic Hall in Ellindon, Bretton, from 7pm until 11pm.

Sunday 28 April - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a curry night with representatives from the Mayor's Charities at Mahanranis, Hargate Way, Peterborough, from 6.30pm until 10pm.

Monday 29 April - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a Dedication Ceremony at All Saints Church in Park Road, Peterborough, between 1.45pm and 3.45pm. The event will see the dedication of a new Branch Standard for the Royal Engineers Association.
