Prospective candidates invited to election briefing

Prospective candidates looking to stand in this year's local and parish elections are invited to attend a briefing session in the Council Chamber at the Peterborough Town Hall on Wednesday 2 March 2016 at 6.30pm.

Peterborough City Council's Chief Executive Gillian Beasley, who is also the council's Returning Officer, will be holding a briefing session for all prospective candidates and their agents to discuss election processes.

An overview will also be given on the nomination process and election timetable, postal voting procedures, the counting process and electoral integrity issues.

All of the 60 seats on Peterborough City Council will be contested on Thursday 5 May 2016. Parish council elections (if contested) will also be held in Bainton and Ashton, Barnack, East, Goldhay East, Hampton Hargate, Hampton Vale, Helpston, North-East, Orton Longueville, Orton Waterville, Southorpe, Ufford and Wothorpe.
