Pub re-opening and Italian festival in Mayor's diary

The re-opening ceremony of a Peterborough pub and a Mediterranean food festival are dates in the Mayoral diary for the coming week.

Thursday 6 September - The Mayor will cut a ribbon at the re-opening ceremony of the Halcyon pub in Atherstone Avenue, Peterborough from 10.30am until 11.30am.

Thursday 6 September - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend an annual reception event at RAF Wittering between 5pm and 7.45pm. The event will feature presentations by station commander Group Captain Tony Keeling and officers at the base about the role they play in supporting the RAF across the world.

Saturday 8 September - The Mayor and Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will get a tour of some of the more unusual rooms and buildings in the city as part of this year's Heritage Open Days event, which is organised by the Peterborough Civic Society. Their tour takes place at Peterborough Town Hall between 11am and 12pm.

Saturday 8 September - The Mayor and Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Peterborough Italian Festival in Cathedral Square. The popular annual event will see an array of Italian-themed stalls and activities which people of all ages can enjoy. Their visit takes place between 12pm and 1pm.

Saturday 8 September - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a special dinner held for the organisers of the Peterborough Italian Festival to thank them for their efforts. The event takes place at the Fleet Community Centre in Fleet Way, Fletton, from 7pm until 10pm.
