Remembrance events and Women Leaders UK dinner keep Mayor busy

Remembrance events and a women leader's dinner are among the dates in the diary for the Mayor of Peterborough in the coming week.

Thursday 9 November - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will be welcoming the 29th Brownie Werrington group to the Mayor's Parlour at Town Hall from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Friday 10 November - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a Firebreak Intervention Scheme pass out parade at Stanground Fire Station in Belle Vue, PE2 8RA from 1.15pm to 3.15pm. Students spent a week at the fire station learning basic lifesaving skills, using equipment and gaining home fire safety and road safety advice. 

Friday 10 November - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will attend an Armistice Day Memory Tea Afternoon and meet with city war hero Edward Ward who holds the Legion of Honour Medal from the French President for his services in liberating France, Belgium and Holland. The event will take place at Maud Swift Court in Fleet Way, PE2 8EQ from 3.15pm to 5pm.

Friday 10 November - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Women Leaders UK dinner and listen to inspirational speakers at the Peterborough Arena, Oundle Road, PE2 6XE from 6.15pm to 12.30am.

Friday 10 November - The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Peterborough Gang Show which is performing at the Key Theatre in Peterborough from 7pm to 9.45pm. They will watch the show and congratulate the cast on a successful series of performances.

Saturday 11 November - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Armistice Day Service at the War Memorial outside Town Hall in Bridge Street from 10am to 12.30pm. The Mayor, alongside winners of the schools competition to make a poppy wreath, will lay the wreath on the War Memorial. 

Saturday 11 November - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Open University's Degree Ceremony at Kingsgate Conference Centre in Staplee Way, PE1 4YT from 12.45pm to 4.30pm.

Sunday 12 November - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the Remembrance Sunday Service at Peterborough Cathedral and the War Memorial from 9.15am to 12.50pm.  The Mayor will lead a Civic Procession including dignitaries, Freemen of the City, the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, military representatives and guests from the Town Hall to the War Memorial on Bridge Street for the laying of the wreaths just after 10am. 

Sunday 12 November - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the 158 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps at the Army Reserve Centre in London Road, PE2 9BY from 1pm to 3pm.

Sunday 12 November - The Mayor and Mayoress will lay a wreath at the Hand & Heart Remembrance Service in Highbury Street, PE1 3BE from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Monday 13 November - The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a Meet and Eat event held to celebrate Inter Faith Week at the Reception Room in Town Hall from noon to 2pm. 

Monday 13 November - The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a National Citizen Service at Kingsgate Conference Centre in Staplee Way, PE1 4YT from 7pm to 9pm.

Monday 13 November - The Mayor will attend the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade's annual dinner at the Bull Hotel in Westgate, Peterborough from 7pm to midnight.
