Retiring councillors reception and variety concert keep Mayor busy

A reception for retiring councillors and a variety concert by Steve Perry to raise funds for the Mayor's charities are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Monday 23 November: The Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayor will welcome guests and formerly open the book launch of The Heritage History of Bainse Rajputs in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 11.15am and 1pm.

Monday 23 November: The Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayor will welcome the past Mayor and retiring councillors to a reception and Alderman Award Presentation evening. The Mayor will say a few words and present a gift to those councillors who have retired or who were not elected. In addition, there will be a Honorary Alderman Award presentation to former councillor Pamela Kreling. Councillor David Over will also be at the event as the retiring Mayor.
The evening will take place in the Reception Room, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Tuesday 24 November: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a Celebration Event of Guiding in the Dogsthorpe, Millfield and Park areas of the city. The Mayor will make a speech to open the event. They will be joined in the celebrations by Peterborough Rainbows, Brownies and Guides and their leaders. The event will start with a short celebration in All Saints' Church followed by fun activities and refreshments in the church hall. The evening will take place at All Saints' Church, Park Road, Peterborough between 5.45pm and 7.45pm.

Wednesday 25 November: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend a VIP Reception Corporate Partnership launch. This will promote Vivacity's Corporate Offer to businesses with a mini tour of the Vaults including wine tasting. The visit will take place at Peterborough Museum, Priestgate, Peterborough between 6pm and 8pm.

Wednesday 25 November: The Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayor will attend the 'Your Army' Reception and Briefing by the Army Engagement Team and Brigadier J Bourne OBE. The Army Engagement Group tours the country talking to a wide variety of people to give a greater understanding of the British Army. The Deputy Mayor will visit the event between 6.30pm and 9pm and the Mayor and Mayoress will attend between 8pm and 9pm. The presentation will take place at Thomas Deacon Academy, Queens Garden's, Peterborough.

Saturday 28 November: The Deputy Mayor will make a speech and propose a toast at the End of Year Celebrations. This event has been organised by Extended Hands, a not for profit organisation that supports vulnerable and isolated women in Peterborough. Extended Hands plans activities that reduce social exclusion, improves social capital within the community and enhances women's well-being. This celebration meal has been organised for the most vulnerable women and their children and the event will take place at the Millennium Centre, Dickens Street, Peterborough between 2.15pm and 4pm.

Sunday 29 November: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend Steve Perry's Variety Concert. The concert is to support and raise funds for the Mayor's charities. These are Age UK Peterborough, Hope into Action, Scout and Guide Movement and Combined Cadet Force. The concert will take place at The Parkway Club, Maskew Avenue Peterborough between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
