School opening and 1940's dinner keep Mayor busy

The Phoenix School opening and charity 1940's evening are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

Monday 8 February
: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the official opening of the new build Phoenix School. The opening will take place at Phoenix School, Malborne Road, Orton Malborne, Peterborough between 2pm and 3.30pm.

Tuesday 9 February: The Mayor and Mayoress will visit John Lewis to mark the Mayor's Charities being added to the Community Matters Green Token Scheme.  Community Matters will raise money for chosen charities Combined Cadet Force, Age UK Peterborough, Hope into Action, Peterborough Scouts and Girl Guiding West Cambridgeshire County, during February, March and April. The event will take place at the main entrance of John Lewis in Westgate between 12.30pm and 1pm. 

Tuesday 9 February: The Mayor and Mayoress will cut a ribbon and the Mayor will say a few words at the opening of a new office at the ABAX Stadium. The opening will take place at ABAX Stadium, Allia Future Business Centre, London Road, Peterborough between 4pm and 5pm.

Wednesday 10 February: The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the presentation of Legion D'Honneur on behalf of the French Government. The Mayor will say a few words of congratulations to Mr TD Sismore for his service following the landings on Gold Beach in June 1944. Also attending will be Mr Sismore's family plus six members of The Fenland Branch Royal Military Police Association. The presentation will take place at The Garden Lodge Care Home, 37a Lincoln Road, Glinton, Peterborough between 3pm and 4pm.

Friday 12 February: The Mayor and Mayoress will host a charity 1940's dinner. This will be a fun themed evening with live music, dancers, raffle and grand quiz. The event is to raise funds for this year's chosen charities Combined Cadet Force, Age UK Peterborough, Hope into Action, Peterborough Scouts and Girl Guiding West Cambridgeshire County.
