Spacecraft exhibition launch in Mayor's Diary

The launch of a special Spacecraft exhibition and the 40th anniversary celebrations of a city theatre are among the dates in the Mayoral diary this week.

Tuesday 7 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will present prizes to children who took part in a Young Readers competition. The ceremony takes place outside Boots in the Serpentine Green shopping centre in Peterborough between 2pm and 2.30pm.

Tuesday 7 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will attend a garden party at the Star Nursing Home in Star Road, Peterborough, between 3pm and 4pm.

Thursday 9 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will host students who have taken part in the National Citizenship Service initiative to the Mayor's Parlour at Peterborough Town Hall from 11am until 12.30pm.

Thursday 9 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will host a visit from former city councillor Keith Luckey and guests in the Mayor's Parlour at Peterborough Town Hall from 1.30pm until 3pm.

Thursday 9 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will attend a cheque presentation for funds raised for the Mayor's charities during 2017 - 18, these were; Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust, Sea Cadets and Shopmobility. The event takes place in the Mayor's Parlour at Peterborough Town Hall from 3.30pm to 4pm.

Friday 10 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will attend the launch of astronaut Tim Peake's spacecraft exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral. The historic venue is displaying the Soyuz craft which Tim Peak travelled back to Earth in after his mission to the International Space Station in 2016. Their visit takes place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Saturday 11 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will meet and greet guests at the Salaam Radio summer festival. The event takes place in Recreation Park, Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough and their visit takes place from 3pm until 4pm.

Sunday 12 August - The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress will attend a party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Cresset Theatre. It takes place at the venue in Rightwell, Bretton, from 2.30pm until 4pm.
