Volunteer car park project and Battle of Britain services keep Mayor busy

A volunteer project to support the refurbishment of St George’s Community Hydrotherapy Pool's car park and Battle of Britain memorial services are among the events in the mayoral diary.

Thursday 14 September
:The Mayor and Mayoress will attend The Jobs Show taking place at Peterborough United Football Club, London Road, between 9.45am and 11am.

Thursday 14 September:
 The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend a meeting of Peterborough Disability Forum at Westgate Church, Westgate, Peterborough, between 9.45am and 12noon.

Friday 15 September: 
The Mayor will attend a volunteer project taking place to support the refurbishment of St George’s Community Hydrotherapy Pool's car park on Dogsthorpe Road between 8am and 10am. Inspire Peterborough and the St George’s Friends and Service Users Group have appealed for volunteers to help with improvements to the facility’s car park on 15, 16 and 17 September.  The ‘Ground Force’ style project will see volunteers digging, shovelling, moving plants or even making drinks. 

Saturday 16 September:
 The Mayor and Mayoress will attend Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group's afternoon tea at Thorpe Hall, Thorpe Road, Peterborough, between 1pm and 3pm.

Sunday 17 September:
 The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend two services to commemorate the Battle of Britain. The first event will take place at All Saints' Church in Stamford between 10.30am and 12.30pm which includes a service and parade. The second service is hosted by the Royal Air Force and will take place at St John's Church in Cathedral Square between 5.45pm and 7.30pm.

Tuesday 19 September: Members of staff from the SaferPeterborough Prevention and Enforcement Service have been invited to the Mayor's Parlour at the Town Hall to meet the mayoral party. The mayor is inviting council teams to visit the parlour during his year in office to thank them for their work.

Wednesday 20 September: 
Education awards evening for Peterborough school pupils at Jack Hunt School, Ledbury Road, Netherton between 5.30pm and 8.30pm. The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress will attend the event which celebrates the success of nominated pupils in their GCSE and A-Level exams this summer.
