Excellence nomination for public health worker

A Peterborough City Council Public Health practitioner has attended a special event in Westminster.

Cheryl McGuire was nominated by Stewart Jackson MP to attend the ‘Celebrating Public Health Excellence’ event at Portcullis House.

Nominees heard from the Minister of Public Health, Jane Ellison MP.

Cheryl is a Public Health Practitioner as part of the Council’s Healthy Lifestyles service and leads on the city’s Smokefree and Health Check programmes.

She said she was proud to be nominated: “I’m very passionate about my role at the council, but it is a real team effort to support local people to improve their health.

"As a service we offer all kinds of lifestyle advice from stopping smoking, healthy eating, physical activity and alcohol consumption. Our team are all committed to making health and wellbeing a priority for Peterborough.”
