Bored on bank holiday Monday? Get rid of your bulky waste

Peterborough City Council is offering one-off free bulky waste collections at four locations across the city on Bank Holiday Monday 25 May.

The collections are part of the Love Peterborough, go green, keep it clean campaign, run by Peterborough City Council and Amey. They have been organised to help residents with that obligatory spring clean and to provide information on how to correctly dispose of household waste. Residents can get rid of that old sofa or broken desk and are invited to bring their waste along to the trucks at specific times and locations.

9am - 11am

  • Orton Centre, Orton Goldhay
  • Braymere Road, Hampton (next to the memorial bench / cross)

11.15am - 1pm

  • Hampton Court, Westwood Centre
  • Gladstone Street/English Street - turning circle area

Items which cannot be taken away include asbestos, tins of paint, tyres, gas cylinders, concrete, garden refuse, sinks and toilets.

If you have any questions on disposing of your waste, or want to really spring clean and arrange a paid for collection you can find out  more from the rubbish and recycling section.
