Brown bin subscriber? It

As gardens begin to burst into a spring bloom, Peterborough households are reminded that it’s almost time to sign up to the 2017/18 garden waste collection service.

Households can renew their subscription or sign up from Monday 3 April 2017 for £39. This will cover fortnightly garden waste collections from 22 May 2017 to 18 May 2018.

For people thinking about using the brown bin service for the first time, it’s simple to sign up and means quick and easy disposal of garden waste. You are able to put grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, weeds, leaves, and old flowers and plants in the brown bin.

Councillor Gavin Elsey, Cabinet Member for Waste and Street Scene, said: “We’re delighted that so many households - over 21,000 now - subscribed to the brown bin scheme last year. However, if you don't want to sign up there are other options to dispose of your garden waste such as at the Household Recycling Centre in Dogsthorpe."

Residents can find out how to renew their subscription or sign-up for the first time on the garden waste collection service page.

Existing garden waste subscribers will also be written to in the coming weeks with details of how to renew.

In December and January collections will be monthly.
