Residents in Barnack are being invited to have their say on an application to designate part of the parish as a Neighbourhood area, which would enable the community to play a greater part in planning its future.
Barnack Parish Council has applied to have some of its parish designated as a neighbourhood area, which would allow the Parish Council to produce a neighbourhood plan for the area.
A neighbourhood plan can establish general planning policies for the development and use of land in an area.
Once a neighbourhood plan is approved, the relevant planning authority will make planning decisions in accordance with its policies.
As the suggested boundary for the plan in Barnack does not match the parish boundary (it excludes the area covered by Burghley Estate), residents and other interested parties will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed neighbourhood area.
A consultation period of seven weeks will run from Friday 14 December 2018 until Thursday 31 January 2019. Comments received after this time may not be considered.
A copy of the neighbourhood area application is available to view online or in person at: The Village Hall: The Wilfrid Wood Hall, School Road, Barnack, Stamford, PE9 3DZ.
Comments on the application may be submitted either:
