Showcase of classic and vintage vehicles this weekend

Hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles are gearing up to make their way to Peterborough’s Embankment this weekend (2 and 3 September 2017).

The Peterborough Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show is being organised by Peterborough City Council and more than 500 vehicles have registered to attend.

It will be the fourth year that the show has taken place and it is shaping up to be the largest of its kind in East Anglia.

The weekend show is open to classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, scooters, commercial and agricultural vehicles, buses, ex-military and other forms of transport from yesteryear to modern classics.

The variety of vehicles expected to be on show range from Jaguar to Lotus, and from Chevrolet to Alfa Romeo.

Annette Joyce, service director for city services and communications at Peterborough City Council, said: "We will be welcoming back a number of vehicle exhibitors and saying hello to many more.

"The Embankment's location makes it very accessible for exhibitors and visitors and this is partly why the event has proven to be such a success since it started in 2014.

"We expect this weekend to continue this trend and with the Key Feste running nearby there will be even more to see and do, so I'm sure we'll see lots of visitors over both days."

The show is free to enter for the public and will feature a host of shopping opportunities, family activities, hot food stalls and entertainment.

Exhibitors are encouraged to register before the show by visiting the council's website however cars may still be accepted on the day.

Vehicles registered in the year 2000 or older are considered classics for this show. Newer modified vehicles that encompass a classic look will also be considered.

The Vivacity Key Feste 2017 runs on both the Saturday and Sunday. The focus is on arts and participatory sports and there will be activities and performances surrounding the Key Theatre, inside the Key Theatre, at the Lido and Athletics Track. For further information visit the Vivacity website.
