Shoppers can win a bumper Christmas hamper by entering this year’s Peterborough City Market competition.

The competition has proven to be a popular draw in recent years and customers at Peterborough City Market can win a hamper packed with goodies provided by the site’s traders.

Anyone can enter and all you need to do is make a purchase from any of the traders on the market from Saturday 25 November. After buying an item, shoppers will receive an entry form they can fill in and deposit in one of the prize draw boxes located throughout the market.

Shoppers can enter the prize draw as many times as they like until the closing date on Wednesday 20 December 2017.

The winning entry will have the hamper delivered to their home by the Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Fox.

Stephen Woolley, markets and commercial trading officer at Peterborough City Council, said: “The hamper will be packed full of seasonal treats and we’re really pleased to be running the hamper draw again thanks to the generosity of our traders.”

The City Market, found between Northminster, Laxton Square, Cattle Market Road and Market Way, is the ideal shopping destination for all your festive needs, from wrapping paper to seasonal fruit and veg.

Leading up to Christmas Day, the market will be open as normal (Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30am to 4pm).

The market will also be open extra hours:

  • Monday 18 December
  • Sunday 24 December (Christmas Eve) from 10am to 4pm.

The market will be closed on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 December.
