Awards ceremony and harvest festival keep Mayor busy

A music awards evening and the annual Sikh harvest festival are among the dates in the mayoral diary next week.

  • The Mayor will open The Job Show Peterborough. The recruitment and careers event features exhibitors recruiting and offering training and education opportunities across the city. The event will be held at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, Hampton, Peterborough.
  • The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Youth Music Awards hosted by Vivacity. The event is a celebration for young musicians in the area and will be held at the Key Theatre, Embankment Road, Peterborough.
  • The Mayor will attend Welland Academy School celebration assembly which includes a performance by the school choir. The assembly will be held at Welland Academy, Scalford Drive.
  • The Mayor and Mayoress will attend the Peterborough Lions 45th annual dinner at Orton Hall Hotel, The Village, Orton Longueville, Peterborough.
  • The Mayor and Mayoress will say a few words to start the Baisarhi harvest festival. Baisarhi is one of the major festivals for Sikhs and is celebrated in thanks for a good harvest. The celebrations will take place at Peterborough Technical College, Peterborough.
