Passenger Transport Driver - Part Time/Term Time Only

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting a part time Passenger Transport Driver to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

The main purpose of this role is to maintain a safe environment for pupils accessing transport services. Where required, working with a passenger assistant to provide high quality school transport service throughout the designated area, providing the service user with a positive experience of our transport services and reflect the values of Aragon Direct Services.

Hours of work – 2 hours in the morning approx. 0715 – 0915 and 2 hours in the afternoon approx. 1430 -1630.
Monday – Friday, during term time.

What does the role involve?
  • To collect and deliver allocated clients from designated pick up points, to their destination, ensuring at all times that they are safe and comfortable, and that when travelling all occupants of the vehicle are securely strapped in position using the full range of restrain systems provided.
  • Report any concerns over behavioural, physical, mental or other health needs of the clients to the school and/or line manager. Completing accident forms where required.
  • Deliver the clients to the safe custody of their designated drop off point.
  • Complete regular bus pass checks and report any issues.
  • To undertake daily vehicle checks before use and at the end of each day (brakes, oil, water, tyres, cleanliness and any vehicle damage).
  • To clean and maintain, whilst in possession, the vehicle (inside and out) and to report when interior/exterior clean is required.
  • Responsible for maintaining and conducting oneself in a professional manner towards colleagues and other agencies.
  • Display a good attitude to our clients, school staff, visitors, public and colleagues.

    Licencing Requirements:
  • Full unrestricted D1 or Full PSV Licence
  • Driver CPC Qualification

We are also open to accept applications from those who do not have the above qualifications but would like to be considered for training. For this you would need to demonstrate that you are a reliable individual who is self-motivated, patient and able to use own initiative when required.

Grounds Maintenance Operative - Experienced full time vacancy (Monday to Friday 37 hours)

Aragon Direct Services (a trading name of Peterborough Limited) are recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

What is the purpose of this role?

To form part of Aragon’s Streetcare team undertaking grounds maintenance duties across various sites across Peterborough. Service delivery will include, but not limited to, grass cutting, shrub/hedge cutting, bed maintenance, sport pitch maintenance and planting of public open spaces, parks and highways.

What makes this role unique?

Working within the Streetcare team you will take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others to provide a ‘right first time’ approach to service delivery.

What will this role involve?
  • Undertaking all aspects of grounds maintenance including scheduled and reactive works and ensuring the quality of workmanship meets our client’s requirements
  • The safe use and operation of relevant plant, machinery and vehicles as required to complete tasks
  • Taking ownership of your work requirements and delivering consistently to a high standard
  • Ensuring daily work schedules are followed and completed within the required deadlines
  • Reporting and recording the status of tasks via works completion sheets or/and a tablet devise
  • Completing the appropriate safety checks on all vehicles, plant and equipment and carrying out maintenance and reporting defects as required
  • Dealing with members of the public, other team members, managers and sub-contractors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assisting in other areas of the streetcare service delivery as required
  • As part of the recruitment process you will be asked to undergo a drug and alcohol test and possibly (depending on the work area) a DBS check.
What are we looking for?
  • At least 3 years experience in a ground maintenance role, either in the private or public sector
  • Demonstrated first hand experience of safely operating grounds plant and machinery, including ride on mowers, cylinder mowers, strimmers, pedestrian mowers, hedge cutters
  • Relevant grounds or horticultural related qualifications (NPTC, Lantra, NVQ, City and Guilds etc)
  • Ability to maintain all aspects of amenity horticultural areas, including hedges, shrubs and seasonal bedding
  • Full driving licence
  • The ability to undertake manual work, including manual handling and lifting as required
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding of good customer care
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding of a ‘right first time approach’ to service delivery
  • The ability to work safely, and follow safe working practices at all times
  • The ability to follow work instructions both written and oral to a high standard without direct supervision.
  • The ability to read and understand documents such as inspection sheets, Risk Assessments, COSHH sheets, etc.
  • The ability to complete all relevant / necessary forms relating to the Streetcare operations
  • The ability to identify and recognise health and safety issues before they may become a problem
  • Self-motivated and hardworking

Driver/Loader

As a Driver/Loader, your duties will include:

  • Collect refuse/recycling from requested locations and dispose of at the appropriate waste collection sites
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Drive / load as directed
  • Operate the compaction controls of a company vehicle when required
  • Operate the ‘in cab device’
  • Ensure that were premises, gates, barriers are unlocked to gain access and they are relocked, paying particular attention to the safeguarding of keys
  • Carry out and assist with Loading responsibilities as required
  • Ensure paperwork is completed fully and passed to relevant Supervisor
  • Ensure the satisfactory completion of work in accordance with instructions
  • Ensure compliance with both company vehicle policy and all
  • legislative requirements

You will have:

  • Driver CPC Qualification
  • Basic literacy skills
  • Driving Experience
  • Full Category C Driving Licence
  • Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card
  • Flexible approach to hours of work
  • Health and Safety awareness and knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Manual handling

Waste Operative

As a Loader, your duties will include:

  • Collect refuse/recycling from requested locations
  • Loading onto a collection vehicle using the equipment provided to agreed work targets and to high standards

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Basic literacy skills
  • Flexible approach to hours of work
  • Health and Safety awareness and knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Manual handling
