From football and gymnastics to arts and crafts, designing T-shirts to Easter egg hunts, there are a whole host of activities available for school age children during the forthcoming school holidays.

The Easter Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme aims to provide enriching activities and healthy food for primary and secondary school-aged children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals. Bookings open today (Monday 26 February 2024) to secure your places.

The aim of the programme is to enable children to be active over the school holidays, eat healthily, and learn more about health and nutrition . It also gives children the chance to take part in fun, engaging and enriching activities.

During the Easter school holidays, eligible children can access up to four, four-hour sessions at no cost to their family.

Children and young people must live in Peterborough or attend a Peterborough school. The sessions include a variety of exciting activities and a healthy meal . All sessions are fully funded by the Department for Education (DfE).

Ray Bisby, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “There are many different activities on offer throughout the Easter holidays for children of all ages.

“These sessions provide healthy food and activities that enable children to socialise with other children and gives them opportunities to try out new things. If your child is eligible, I’d encourage you to have a look what is on offer near you.

“If you have children with SEND I’d urge you to look on the website and call those providers you are interested in to see what they can offer you and your child. It is all fully funded by the Government.”
