Run a pop-up market stall in Peterborough

16 February 2023

Have you ever thought about growing your business, however, you are put off by the cost of running a shop?

Peterborough City Market is looking for you.

We want to help existing businesses and start-ups to get in front of real customers up to three days a week as part of our Peterborough City Market offering which runs along Bridge Street. The pop-up stalls will be operational on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with owners being given the option of setting up shop all three days or any combination that suits them.

Currently we have 12 stalls which will become available in the near future accompanying the indoor food market and permanent wooden chalet style market stalls.

You would run a pop-up gazebo style stall - ideal for those looking to develop a market presence and test your product in front of real life customers on the busiest days of the week.

If you would like to learn more about this opportunity or are interested in booking your place, please contact the City Centre team at market@peterborough.gov.uk

Councillor Steve Allen, deputy leader of Peterborough City Council, said: “Since the market opened, we have seen high footfall along Bridge Street, which has encouraged potential traders to get in touch wondering if they could run their own stall, or customers asking if and when the market might be expanding in future.

“This spring we want to introduce regular pop-up stalls to cater for this demand, giving it a boost of energy going into the weekends and help bring an extra buzz towards the local market scene.

“As well as existing regular pop-up traders, we would love to see more independent businesses that want to expand their business, but don’t want the commitment or costs of running a shop or full time stall.”
