Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral will be on Monday, 19 September and His Majesty’s Government has confirmed that the day will be a Bank Holiday.
The majority of Peterborough’s City Council Services will be closed including libraries, Household Recycling Centres, swimming pools, leisure centres and Child and Family Centres. All services will resume on Tuesday, 20 September.
There are some exceptions:
Registration Offices – Any pre-booked ceremonies will take place as arranged. All other appointments are being moved and the service will not be operating on that day.
Bereavement Services – Any pre-booked ceremonies will take place as arranged. The bereavement office at the crematorium will be closed but our usual emergency number will be available if required.
Customer Call Centre – The council’s customer call centre will be closed except for emergency calls, which can be made on 01733 864157 or 01733 234724 for social care emergency calls. For Highway and Street Lighting emergencies please call 0845 604 3127.
As our buildings will be closed, the physical Books of Condolences will not be available on Monday 19 September but will be available until 5pm on Tuesday 20 September.
