About the challenge
Between 19 September and 31 October 2023, we ran an interactive tool to put residents in the driving seat when it comes to balancing the council's budget.
The budget simulator gave the opportunity to:
- Learn more about the breadth of services we provide
- Have a say on where you thought we should focus our spending and make savings
For each council service included in the simulator, there was a description explaining what it provides and looks to achieve.
In addition, for each reduction or increase in spend, there was an option to read or watch a video about the consequences.
What happens next
Thank you to everyone who took part in our budget simulator challenge.
The feedback we received from participants will be provided as part of a report going to Cabinet on 13 November 2023. You can view the documents relating to the 13 November 2023 Cabinet meeting on the Democracy Peterborough website.
We will use your responses in the development of our Medium Term Financial Strategy. This will set out how we will deliver a balanced budget in 2024/25.
