Transferring to us

Foster with Peterborough logo

Sometimes, we all need a change. Whatever your reason, you have the right to transfer to a local authority like us if you:

  • Are an approved foster carer
  • Are already registered with a fostering agency or another local authority provider
  • Have read our offer and feel this would be right for you

We offer a fast-track process that will help you to transfer to Peterborough. We will also offer you a condensed bespoke training package, competitive allowances, and guidance throughout the transfer process.

Please submit an enquiry and we will arrange to visit you.

We are proud to be part of the Foster East network. Foster East will inform us that you have made an enquiry, and we will contact you so that we can find out more about you and discuss all of the exciting options that you have available to you.

Training once your transfer is approved

Once you’ve successfully transferred to us, we will encourage you to be proactive in taking up training opportunities to ensure that you have all the skills and knowledge you need to fully support the local children and young people in your care. We are fully committed to promoting equal opportunities, so we make sure that all our foster carers have access to our comprehensive training programme, which we review and refresh regularly.

Because we are a local authority, we have free access to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough safeguarding partnership.

Our close links with Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), Virtual Schools, Youth Offending Services, Participation Service, and the Children’s Care Teams also provide additional insight and expertise for our training courses.
