Children in Care Awards

It's really important to us that we recognise the achievements of our young people in care and those leaving care. We have a number of ways to recognise their achievements.

Each year we hold two events (for different ages) to celebrate the achievements of Children and Young People in Care. This is a scheme to recognise and say ‘well done’ for real achievement for individual young people and all nominees are presented with a certificate.

We also have a monthly recognition scheme where young people can receive a letter from the Cabinet Member for Children's Services which recognises their achievement.

Who can be nominated

All children and young people in care and care leavers who have been looked after by the council can be nominated if they are happy to be.

This is your opportunity to nominate a child or young person in care who you think has achieved something significant for them, in one or more of these categories.
