Heltwate Special School

Peterborough City Council proposes to expand Heltwate School so that it is able to provide 206 places in permanent accommodation. The school previously provided 140 places on their Bretton site and the number of places was increased to 206 by the addition of St George’s campus and by utilising temporary accommodation. It is now proposed to formalise this increase in pupil numbers by replacing the temporary accommodation with permanent build.

No objections were received in the consultation period. As this was the case, the Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education, Skills and the University, approved the proposal without modification on 9 August. The proposal will be implemented from 1 September 2023.
