Public Health England’s annual Health Profiles give a snapshot of the overall health of each Local Authority in England. The profiles present an overview of some of the most important health indicators monitored by Public Health, including comparisons to national averages to highlight areas of interest for improvement for Local Authorities. These profiles are produced for use by elected Councillors, Directors of Public Health and Health and Wellbeing Boards as well as to inform Joint Strategic Needs Assessments.
Fingertips is an interactive, localised tool that provides a rich source of indicators across a wide range of health and wellbeing themes, with the aim to help reduce inequalities. Fingertips presents rates and trends for Peterborough, as well as comparisons to England and their statistical neighbours.
The Local Health website developed as part of the Health Profiles programme, provides access to maps and data at small area level and has also been recently updated.
Outcomes data are presented at district level across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to help local authorities and health services to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people and to tackle health inequalities. Indicators are drawn from the nationally produced Child Health Profiles and the locally developed Children’s Outcome Framework.
The overarching Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) 2023 is published on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Insight website. It includes interactive dashboards that present data for Peterborough, reflecting on the changes in population over the last 10 years. It also looks forward to the next 10 years, as well as including data on life expectancy, health, mortality and much more.
