Coronavirus (COVID-19) update:

The Prime Minister has announced that we can move to Stage 4 of the Government Road Map from Monday 19 July 2021. From this date, many of the restrictions will be lifted and, as a result of this, we have reviewed the restrictions when attending a funeral at Peterborough Crematorium and Peterborough Cemeteries.

Following a risk assessment and to ensure the safety of our staff, we will still need to restrict the numbers within the chapel, however it will now be a maximum of 80 seated and no standing at the back. We do recognise that there may be families that would still like to distance within the chapel, and we would therefore recommend that this number is 25 seated. The screens will be available outside with no restriction on numbers.

We recommend that all people attending a service wear a facemask and to distance where possible to ensure their own safety and the safety of our staff.

Hand sanitiser and signage will still be visible in all areas and the chapel will continue to be cleaned between each service.

As COVID-19 spreads from person-to-person through small droplets, aerosols and through direct contact, singing, the playing of some musical instruments and shouting increases the risk of transmission. Therefore we will continue to have no singing in the chapel unless this is a by a professional singer(s) where any performers are positioned in a way that avoids face-to-face performance, as far as possible.

As restrictions have not yet been removed, we will continue to provide the webcast facility at cost price which is £36.

There is no limit to the number of attendees at funerals within our cemeteries, however we do recommend that people continue to wear facemasks and socially distance.

This will be reviewed on a regular basis and we will update people should this change.
