Peterborough City Council provides competitively priced waste and recycling collections for businesses, schools, charities and community organisations. Our services are flexible, tailored to your needs and delivered with no hidden charges.
We collect:
- General residual waste
- Mixed Dry Recycling – plastics, cans, glass, paper and card
- Food waste
We offer a full range of container sizes to suit your needs. Separating your food waste and recycling can reduce disposal costs and support your business to meet legal requirements.

Do you need a commercial waste service?
If you produce ‘non‑domestic’ waste, you must arrange a commercial waste collection. It is illegal to dispose of business waste at the Household Recycling Centre (HRC) or in household waste bins.
This includes:
- Businesses of any size
- Schools and clubs
- Care homes and healthcare facilities
- Holiday lets and rental properties
- Charity shops
- Factories, farms and public halls
- Home‑based businesses

New recycling legislation – what it means for your business
From 31 March 2025, businesses in England must change the way they handle their waste. New legislation requires certain materials to be separated for recycling rather than placed into general waste.
