Information on who can help support Care Leavers in Peterborough.

Your Personal Advisor (PA)

You can get PA support up to age 25. Your PA helps you make and review your Pathway Plan and access your support. Your PA can help you apply for parts of the Local Offer and tell you what evidence is needed.

Your Pathway Plan

Your Pathway Plan is your plan for the future (home, money, health, education/work and support). It is written by your Personal Advisor (if you have one). We review it regularly and it should include details of what you’re asking for from the Local Offer and how this will support your future independence.

Your Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)

While you are in care, your IRO makes sure your care plan meets your needs and that your voice is heard. If you are a Care Leaver in Peterborough, you can ask for IRO support up to age 25 if you feel it would help. Your IRO can also support applications for the Local Offer on your behalf.

Your right to advocacy

An advocate is independent and can help you understand your rights, speak up in meetings, or make a complaint.

You can contact NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) by phoning 0808 808 1001. If you want help making contact, ask the Leaving Care Team.

Have your say

You can get involved, meet other Care Leavers, and help improve services.
