We are asking residents for their views on a budget proposal relating to the public health budget. If approved, this will help us to maintain a balanced budget whilst continuing to deliver core public health services.

Adult behaviour change services
Below is the different types of behaviour change services currently delivered in Peterborough, funded by Peterborough City Council public health team:
- Adult weight management: this is structured weight loss support, based around support around diet and physical activity
- Health trainers: these staff support service users over several weeks to meet a health behaviour related goal of the service user’s choice, which may relate to a range of areas. There are some health trainers who specialise in helping with certain areas, for example there are health trainers who specialise in supporting with mental health, alcohol intake and with working with the Eastern European community
- Falls prevention: this service provides structured advice and access to strength and balance classes to reduce the risk of falling
- Outreach health checks: this service provides health checks related to cardiovascular (heart health) risk
- Physical activity: this service support the delivery of a range of community physical activity opportunities
- Training for professionals: this service provides training to health professionals around how they can support service users with healthy lifestyles
- Smoking cessation: this service provides support for smokers to quit smoking
