Residents in Peterborough can help support children who are in need over the Christmas period as part of a special festive scheme.

Peterborough City Council has teamed up with the charity Barnardo's to put a Christmas Giving Tree up in Bewitched coffee shop at Fletton Quays.

Until 28 November, people can head to Bewitched and use the tree to help donate gifts to children in the Peterborough area.

To lend a hand to 2025’s Giving Tree, simply take a name tag from the tree, scan the QR code and buy a present from the wish list.

Bring the unwrapped present back to Bewiched, and it will be collected by the Barnardo’s team, who distribute the gifts to local families in time for Christmas.

Councillor Katy Cole, cabinet member for children's services for Peterborough City Council, said: “Part of the joy of the holidays is the giving and receiving of gifts; we want all of Peterborough’s residents to be able to experience this.

“Supporting a scheme that makes this possible is what Christmas is all about, so buy a gift and put it under the Giving Tree to help the city’s less fortunate.”

The charity receives referrals from other charities, children’s social care, health visits, midwifery, targets support, preschools, nurseries, schools and family support workers.
