Building and maintaining relationships is important as you move into adulthood, and there is plenty of support available to help you. Your Personal Advisor (PA) can guide you on how to maintain connections with family, make new friends, and access services for your emotional wellbeing.

Reconnecting with family

If you’ve lost contact with family, especially as a separated migrant, the Red Cross Family Tracing Service can help you search for missing relatives. Please visit: Find missing family | Family Tracing | British Red Cross.

Council mentoring scheme

We offer a mentoring scheme where you can request a mentor – a council staff member who can guide you in accessing support and offer career advice. They’ll be someone to look up to, and you can meet for casual chats over coffee or hot chocolate. Think of them as a friendly face to support you!

If you’d like to request a mentor, please complete this form: Mentor Request Form.

For more information on the mentoring scheme, please contact our Virtual School at virtualschool@peterborough.gov.uk.

  • We are also interested in creating other groups - tell us what would be helpful

We also post the monthly Care Leavers' newsletter in the WhatsApp community.
