If you want a non-religious civil ceremony in Peterborough, you can either have your ceremony at the Register Office or at another licensed civil ceremony venue.

Venues that host marriages and civil partnerships must have the correct licence to do so.

We are the local authority responsible for issuing civil ceremony venue licences in the Peterborough registration district. Our licence covers marriages, civil partnerships, vow renewals and naming ceremonies.

Different rules and processes apply for religious ceremonies, getting married abroad, or exceptional circumstances ceremonies. Please visit these pages for more information.
