Peterborough is a city packed full of potential and primed for redevelopment and investment.
Last year, the £13.5 million new Centre for Green Technology, opened on the site of Peterborough College, serving as a landmark hub for sustainable education.
Part of the Inspire Education Group, it is already receiving growing national recognition for its cutting edge training in renewable energy, construction, and environmental technologies. £2 million of the funding for this project came from the Government’s Towns Fund.
We have also carried out a £3.4 million upgrade to the Lincoln Road area of Peterborough, creating an attractive destination for residents, visitors and shoppers, encouraging more people to walk and cycling and helping to boost local business. £2.4 million of this came from the Towns Fund.
Another project that is partially funded by the Towns Fund is the Lakeside Activity Centre at Ferry Meadows Country Park which aims to create an international standard climbing facility for Peterborough, attracting climbing enthusiasts from across the UK and providing sporting facilities for local residents.
