Prior Approval - Change of Use with or without External Alterations

Introduction

Only use this form if your proposal involves the change of use of a building (and its curtilage) with or without external alterations:

  • (a) from shops (A1) or financial and professional service (A2) to dwellinghouses (C3) or a mixed use combining dwellinghouses with a use falling within either class A1 or A2
  • (aa) associated building operations reasonably necessary to convert the building to a use falling within class C3
  • (b) from agriculture to dwellinghouses (C3) including buildings and any land within their curtilage
  • (bb) associated building operations reasonably necessary to convert the building to a use falling within class C3

The list below details supporting documents that may need to be submitted as part of your application. Please refer to each section below in order to determine whether or not you need to submit it as part of your application.

If the site is within Floodzone 2 or 3, OR the site is in Floodzone 1 and has critical drainage problems/surface water flooding problems, you must submit a Flood Risk Assessment.
