Prior Approval - Householder Single Storey Extension

Introduction

Only use this application if you plan to build a single storey extension to the rear of a property and the extension falls within the following parameters;

  • Work has not yet commenced
  • if the property is detached the proposed extension measures between 4 metres and 8 metres in depth when measured from the rear wall of the original dwellinghouse
  • If the property is link detached, semi detached or terraced the extension measures between 3 metres and 6 metres in depth when measured from the rear wall of the original dwellinghouse

This form is not to be used for any other type of extension or development including an extension to a flat or maisonette.

The list below details supporting documents that may need to be submitted as part of your application. Please refer to each section below in order to determine whether or not you need to submit it as part of your application.

If you use the application form please ensure that you have completed every section of the application form before submitting. Where sections or questions are not relevant please state this on the form.

If you do not wish to use the form provided please ensure that you provide a written description of the proposed development including:

  • how far the extension extends beyond the rear wall of the original dwelling house;
  • the maximum height of the extension;
  • the height of the eaves of the extension
  • addresses of all adjoining premises
  • the developer's contact address
  • the developer's email address (optional)
