Prior Notification form should be used for proposals to carry out certain agricultural and forestry developments permitted under Parts 6 and 7 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995.

You can either use the application form OR provide a full written description of the proposed development, including details of the materials to be used and dimensions in metric.

  • identifies the land to which the application relates;
  • identifies the area that is the subject of the application
  • is drawn to an identified scale;
  • shows the direction of north
  • and includes a scale bar.

You should provide cross sections both upstream and downstream of the proposed works. Cross sections should be drawn as if looking downstream on the watercourse and should include details of existing features and water levels.

This is not an essential requirement, but can be helpful when submitted with this applications.

A statement is required for all applications for extraction. The statement should set out mineral types and volumes to be extracted, taken off site for sales, and kept on site for restoration together with type and volume of any material to be imported onto the site.
